Polartec Alpha active insulation regulates body warmth for optimized comfort during stop-start activities. Tough, yet lightweight, it's lofted fibers, mesh core and hydrophobic qualities make Alpha dependable, highly breathable and fast drying.

What is Active insulation?
Active insulation refers to the dynamic ability of Polartec Alpha to seamlessly insulate the body to regulate heat management during high aerobic output levels while keeping you warm when less active.
How does Polartec Alpha work?
Polartec Alpha uses a lofted fiber structure with a mesh core, allowing warm air retention when needed and enhanced airflow during movement. This active thermal-management system prevents overheating and keeps you comfortable in unpredictable environments.
Unlike traditional insulation, which traps heat indiscriminately, Polartec Alpha offers dynamic breathability, fast dry times and moisture-resistance. By actively adjusting and automatically responding to your activity level, it keeps you comfortably warm without the risk of overheating.
Insulated with Polartec Alpha Direct 90
The front panels are constructed from ultralight ripstop nylon with a DWR finish, providing wind resistance and light-weather protection without adding bulk.
The back panel is intentionally nylon free, exposing Alpha Direct fleece to maximize breathability and heat ventilation, preventing the overheating and moisture buildup common with fully-shelled midlayers.
Built for conditions that don't stay put. This vest adapts as fast as the trail does Alpha 90 keeps your core warm at camp or on a chilly ascent, while the nylon-free back panel vents heat the moment you start climbing or the sun comes out.
A high neck collar seals in warmth around your neck when the wind picks up, without the bulk of a hood. Ultralight ripstop front panels shrug off wind and light rain, and the whole thing compresses down small enough to disappear into your pack when you don't need it. So you're never carrying dead weight, just backup warmth for whatever the mountain throws at you

Due to the nature of the fabric, some initial fiber shedding is normal. Wash before first use to remove any loose fuzz from the fabric.
Avoid bleach and fabric softener. Do not iron or dry clean.
Please place this garment in the included mesh bag before washing, it helps protect the fabric and prevent shedding onto other items.
